Day 14 - Joy Day

Day 14 of 40 days of prayer for the election:Originally posted on Facebook on October 11, 2012

I had planned to wait until Day 20 to have a joy day. A joy day in this intense time of preparations for the most important election in our history??? I know that God wants us to rejoice even in the midst of trials and decisions, maybe even more in these times.

Tonight is also a very important debate. Clarity, truth, boldness and God's armor are needed for this one. The listeners' minds must be open to hear also. Do not doubt that God wants His truth to be revealed. Have peace in the way He will accomplish that tonight and in the coming days before the election.

So Peace & Joy!

* Pray - Father, You promise to bless us with rejoicing when righteous leaders are in charge. So we ask You for godly, good leaders who will bring joy to those they lead. Do not allow any wicked persons to gain public office in this fall's elections, but only those who will honor You. Proverbs 29:2

* Pray - During election time, Father, it is easy to get wrapped up in the negative, in fault-finding, criticism and contentiousness. Cause our hearts to be sweet and pure, obediently acting as You want Your children to act, so no one can find fault. In this way, we can shine for You in our darkened world. Philippians 2:14-15

* Pray - Joyfully let us give out the truth, Father. Help us to be bold in proclaiming your Word to those who will listen and to those who refuse to listen. Let our peace in You and joy in our salvation be a magnet to draw others to You! Psalm 106:4-5

Amen
