Day 29 - Hope (10/26/12)

Day 29 of 40 days of prayer for the electionOriginally posted on Facebook on October 26, 2012

The mark of HOPE is a distinguishing mark of a Christian. Today let us look up, expectantly in hope for the outcome of the election.

I heard a commentator brush off all the hateful speech given out by his party with "it's to be expected. We are in the silly season." Guess he can call it "silly," but I call it desperate and disgusting. Let's try to rise above the petty, little ideas and focus on the hope we have in the noble and good plans of the challenger, Mitt Romney.

I certainly don't have a crystal ball, but we know who doesn't need one, because God holds our past, present and future in His mighty Hands! I am confident that He who began a good work in our country will finish it! We have the ear of the One who formed the world and all of us!

"...Apart from Me you can do nothing...If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish and it will be given unto you." John 15:5-7.

Let us claim the victory, not in overconfidence or haughty pride, but in confident hope, calling on the One who is coming back to get us to be with Him!

Pray:

* Dear Father, we confess our fears and anxieties about the coming election and are laying them at your feet.

* Redeemer God, give us a confident hope in You.

* Please Jesus, give us Your mind as false attacks come to our candidate. Let the truth be unleashed in a mighty way.

* Father, create a protection, both physical and spiritual, around Mitt Romney and his family. Let no harm come to Him, please Lord.

* We claim a rejoicing in the newness of this day as we face the uncertain future in Your mighty hands, Lord God of all!

Amen
