On my heart today is the great good that is coming out of the close, contentious race for the White House. We are drawing close together in prayer for the result. We are remembering the blessings of living in the freedom the United States of America has given us. We are seeing right before our eyes, the truth being revealed.
God is answering our prayers right now. Somehow, we (especially me) wait until I get in an awful spot to beseech God. Our everyday concerns can elicit a brief, thankful prayer. But when the times are tough, we drop to out knees and look around for others to assist us in prayer. This is human and this is good. God knows us better than we know ourselves. He loves us in spite of ourselves. And God is waiting for us to ask! He is ready to answer us! And we are desperate, dear Father, for Your help!
"I sought the Lord, and He answered me. He delivered me from all my fears." Psalm 34:4
"The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are attentive to their cry... the righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; He delivers them from all their troubles." Psalm 34:17
Pray:
* Father, deliver us from worry about the upcoming election.
* Lord, give us a united body of prayer.
* Bind our hearts together, God, that we might enter your place of prayer for our country.
* Protect the integrity of the election and the safety of those who are striving to serve our country.
In Your Holy Name,
Amen
