Today has been hard. At least 4 barriers have been thrown up to keep me from praying today for our country (including 1/2 dozen eggs dropped in the kitchen floor!). Here is what I feel prompted to say (and not that what I have to say is so great.) I hope you know I started this to keep me focused on prayer for the election, not worry, fretting or hateful discourse.
"Let us make a little room for miracles today! Impossible is one of God's favorite words. Has it been a while since you claimed God's promise to do "more than we ask or imagine?" Ephesians 3:20
Max Lucado
I took this passage from Max today as an instruction to focus on the sovereignty and power of our God. He holds the future, including the election, in His mighty Hands. He knows what we need, He answers prayers, and we need not fear if we trust Him. He does not want us to hesitate in asking for exactly what we want. Not that we will get it, but it is perfect fine to ask.
Go read your treasure map, the Bible, for direction for today. I did and found an amazing peace. I'm slowing down today, turning off some of the debate analysis, pundits, spin, lies and fear-mongering. Oh, also, boasting, attacking others, and tiresome dribble... that just sounds awful! And it is! I know we are better than most of what I hear and see. We are God's chosen people. And we had better start acting like it. That starts with me.
Pray:
* Please, Lord, let your will be done in the upcoming election. Let men & women who fear You be put in place.
* Sustain us in this trying time with your peace and love.
* Help us to give out wisdom without being hateful and seek You for the wisdom.
* Mighty Lord, help the United States to line up with God's purposes so that He will choose to fight on our behalf.
Amen
